Revenge of the Space Pandas

This is the cast and creative team behind the David Mamet children's play REVENGE OF THE SPACE PANDAS, OR BINKY RUDUCH AND THE TWO-SPEED CLOCK, now playing until October 14th, 2007 at Atlantic Theater Company's mainstage. (I'm 3rd in from the left in the red and white striped cardigan.) I play Mrs. Rudich, a caricatured old-fashioned mom, complete with shrill midwestern accent, desperate for her son and his friends to stop tinkering with the two-speed clock and start eating the casserole she made for lunch! I also play an eccentric damsel of Crestview, the planet 50,000 light years from Earth that Binky and his friends travel to once they manage to get their two-speed clock to work. I am so lucky to be a part of this tremendously talented ensemble cast. This clever show, directed by Paul Urcioli, seamlessly mixes silliness and satire, making SPACE PANDAS a treat for the whole family! (Photo Credit: Alison DeSantis)

Pinafore!

This is the Vortex Theater Company’s 2007 Drama Desk Nominated* H.M.S. PINAFORE, also directed by the gentle theater giant, Dave Dalton. In Dalton’s new adaptation, I played The Girl, who gleefully reads aloud from THE PINAFORE PICTURE BOOK (a children’s book version of the operetta written by W. S. Gilbert). While the girl reads her favorite book to the audience, the story comes alive, music and all, as she and the audience get whisked away into a puppet show scale version of this delightful operetta about British officers at sea. This show was a dream come true for both the want-to-be musical theater proficient and kid in me. I got to sing, dance and play with toys on stage the whole time! (Photo Credit: Joshua Randall)

The Visit

This is Dave Dalton's deliciously camp production of THE VISIT, which went up at the Barrow Group last year. It was produced by the Atlantic Acting Conservatory and NYU Tisch School of the Arts. I played Claire Zachanassian, a rich, old, cosmetically enhanced vixen (she has an artificial left leg and an ivory right hand). Claire bribes her poverty-stricken hometown into killing the man who broke her heart in her youth. This show had everything I love about acting in it- drama, comedy, and rich externals!
